Winemakers Comments: 2021 was the kindest vintage we have experienced in 9 years of Delinquente – a La Nina cycle bringing good spring rainfall, mild summer temperatures and cool, crisp nights. The Bassham Family Organic and Biodynamic vineyard, bursting with natural vitality and life, took full advantage of Mother Nature’s gift and produced beautiful quality fruit – sweet, layered, and with piercing acidity – and plenty of it too!

While the Delinquente wines focus on Southern and Central Italian varieties, the grapes native to the warmer parts of Spain and Portugal and equally as at home in the sun-drenched Riverland. To this end, the Bassham family have planted a portion of their vineyard to an amalgam of hardy Iberian varieties, which is the focus of our “High Crimes” Bag in Box wines.

Our “High Crimes” Summer Rose is all about drinkability – made for the pool, porch, beach or backyard BBQ, it’s all crunchy acidity, bright berry fruits, and thirst slaking refreshment. This year we brought together Spain and Italy, with a blend of Albarino, Vermentino and Graciano – citrus tang, raspberry sweet fruit, acidity and texture.
