Italo Pietrantonj 'Black Label' Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2019 (750 ml)

Italo Pietrantonj is one of the oldest producers in Abruzzo, with records dating back to 1791, though the official start of the estate wasn't until 1830. Eight generations of winemakers have worked the estate's 60 hectares high up in the rolling hills of the Apennine Mountains. The vineyards lie between Vittorito and Corfinio on clay soils at elevations between 350 and 400 meters. Sisiters Roberta and Alice run the estate today.

The Black Label Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is made from 100% Montepulciano from 30 year old vines. The wine is fermented in stainless steel and aged for 7 months in large Slavenian oak barrels. The nose displays wonderful dried floral and fruit aromas complimented by soft leather and earthy notes. The palate is pure and vibrant with excellent freshness, balance and concentration of flavor. Enjoy with pasta dishes with hearty sauces.
